Ross, Ryba break records at indoor event

INDIANAPOLIS — Greenfield-Central’s Chris Ross and Elliot Ryba broke indoor track and field school records at the Pike Red Devil Classic March 2.

Ross broke the record in the 3200-meter run with a time of 9:35.68. Ryba broke his own record in the high jump by clearing 6-feet, 7-inches. Both won their events.

Reese Hill won the shot put with a throw of 47-feet, 10-inches.

A number of other Cougars had personal best performances. John Stuckey had a distance of 20-feet, 2-inches and Mar’Qwon Starks went 19-feet, 8-inches in the long jump.

Austin Kincer ran a personal best 7.37 seconds in the 60-meter dash.

Kincer, Stuckey, Garrett Jack and Everett Bishop moved up to second on the school’s all-time list in the 4×200-meter relay with a time of 1:37.11.

Carson Anderson tied his best in the pole vault by clearing 9-feet, 6-inches.
