INDIANAPOLIS — In the opening indoor girls track and field meet of the season at the Pike Red Devil Classic Saturday, Greenfield-Central’s Savannah Lake set two school records, one as an individual and another with a relay team.
Lake won the 60-meter dash in a school-record time of 7.79 seconds. She was the anchor leg of the 4×200-meter relay team that placed second with a school-record time of 1:51.7. The team included Addison Buckley, Brooklyn McConnell and Ainsley Robinson.
Buckley added a third-place finish in the 60-meter hurdles with a time of 10.07 seconds. Maddie Mies was third in the pole vault at 8-feet, 6-inches.
Lexie Copeland was eighth in the 3200 (12:50.19).Gracie Spurling was 10th in the shot put (31-4) and Tessa Joyner placed 10th in the long jump (14-7 ½).
The Cougars’ next meet is March 16 at Anderson University.
