GREENFIELD
Harold L. Casto, age 85, of Greenfield, passed away Monday, March 4, 2024, at Springhurst Health Campus. He was born in Dunbar, West Virginia on September 21, 1938, to Leo and Clytie (Slater) Casto. He graduated from Sissonville High School in 1957. He married Clarce Jean (Haste) Casto in 1960 in Greenfield, Indiana.
He worked for various companies all over the United States as an iron worker for 17 years. He most recently worked for GM Truck &Bus Plant as a millwright for over 34 years. Mr. Casto was a member of UAW. He loved working on cars, fishing, going to his grandson’s sporting events and doing yardwork.
He is survived by his son, Scott Casto of Greenfield; sister, Helen Dunkle of Lavalette, West Virginia; and grandchildren, Wilson Casto and Adam Casto. He was preceded in death by his parents, Leo and Clytie (Slater) Casto; brothers, Douglas and Leo Casto Jr.; and wife Clarce Jean (Haste) Casto.
Visitation will be held on Friday, March 8, 2024, from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at Erlewein Mortuary &Crematory, 1484 W. US Hwy. 40, Greenfield, IN 46140.
