The Hancock County Health Department inspects restaurants four times annually and violations are determined as “C” for critical, “NC” for noncritical and “R” for repeated violations. The following inspections are based on information obtained from Retail Food Inspection reports.

Nov. 2

Dragon Palace

413 N. State St., Greenfield

Violations found: NC: need to provide hand soap at hand-washing sink, to be corrected by Nov. 3; NC, R – debris build-up throughout facility, to be corrected by Nov. 13; NC – repair/replace flooring in area by door where hole in floor exists, replace/repair flooring in walk-in cooler where tile is damaged, to be corrected by Jan. 2; NC – need to install service sink to dispose of mop water, to be corrected by Jan. 2; C – need to have air gap at drain line of two-compartment sink and dish machine, to be corrected by Jan. 2.

J. B. Stephens Elementary School

1331 N. Blue Road, Greenfield.

Violation found: NC, R2- still some ice build-up in walk-in freezer, to be corrected by March 1.

Nov. 3

Greenfield-Central High School

810 N. Broadway St., Greenfield

Violations found: C – sanitizer in spray bottles is too strong, corrected; NC – some hand-washing sinks have leaks at faucet or faucet handle, to be corrected by Feb. 1.

The Grill

Violations found: C – raw chicken on grill was not cooked to 165 degrees before serving, corrected; NC – obtain test strips to measure concentration of sanitizer at dish machine, to be corrected by Dec. 30; C – knives that are considered clean have food debris, corrected.

Pizza King

6550 W. Broadway St., McCordsville

Violation found: NC – wall by hand sink in kitchen has damage in some places and is no longer smooth or cleanable, to be corrected by Jan. 1.
