Two boys high school basketball games scheduled to be played Friday night were postponed due to inclement weather.
The 91st meeting between Hancock County and Hoosier Heritage Conference rivals New Palestine and Mt. Vernon, to be held at Mt. Vernon High School, was postponed to Tuesday.
The Eastern Hancock at Union (Modoc) Mid-Eastern Conference contest has been rescheduled for Wednesday.
New Palestine is ranked No. 16 in the Indiana Basketball Coaches Association poll. The Dragons are 17-4 overall and 5-1 in the HHC.
Host Mt. Vernon is 13-8 overall and 4-1 in the HHC. Mt. Vernon has also postponed its Senior Night recognition ceremony to Tuesday night.
Mt. Vernon leads the all-time series with New Palestine 54-36.
Eastern Hancock’s game at Union is slated to start at 6:30 p.m. and is a varsity only game. The Royals are 10-9 overall and 5-3 in the MEC. Union is 3-12 and 0-7 in conference play.
