Elks invites community to benefit euchre nights

GREENFIELD – Greenfield Elks will host weekly euchre tournaments to benefit the Kenneth Butler Memorial Soup Kitchen.

The events are open to the public every Monday at 5:30 p.m.; games start at 6 p.m. with a $6 buy-in. Payouts are for first- through third-place winners and most loans. The club is located at 820 S. State St., Greenfield.

Several other events are coming up at the Elks Lodge. A trivia event to benefit the soup kitchen will be at 6 p.m. March 2; cost is $10 per person.

A veterans benefit will be from 7-11 p.m. March 9; cover charge is $10 and music, food, raffles and drawings will be available.

Party style euchre is April 6 to benefit the soup kitchen. Bourbon Bingo is coming up April 13.

Libertarian Party plans for 2024

GREENFIELD – The Hancock County Libertarian Party gathered for its annual convention Feb. 4 and selected a new board and its first candidate.

Luke Lomax is running for Hancock County Council, for the at-large office. More names of candidates may be released at a later date; the party has until July to select candidates for the November general election

The new board for 2024 is Larry Silver, chair; Andrew Smith, vice chair; and Luke Lomax, treasurer.

Shrine Club to host meeting

GREENFIELD – The Hancock County Shrine Club will host its next meeting and meal at 6:30 p.m. Feb. 27 at the Fraternal Order of Police, 400 E. Davis Road, Greenfield.

Gift of Life event Feb. 24

GREENFIELD – Tickets are available now for the 25th annual Gift of Life Dinner and Auction, hosted by Rotary Club of Greenfield.

The event is set for Feb. 24 at the Community Life Center, 10612 E. Washington St., Indianapolis. The event is a milestone as the Rotary Club of Greenfield marks 25 years of being at the forefront of providing life-saving heart surgeries to children across the globe.

Doors open at 5:30 p.m. for cocktail hour.
