Brass band coming to New Pal library
NEW PALESTINE – Get ready for Mardi Gras with Pork & Beans Brass Band, which will perform Feb. 7 at the Sugar Creek branch of the Hancock County Public Library.
The band features the raw energy of NOLA funk. The eight-piece brass band (sousaphone, bass drum, snare drum, trombones, trumpets, and saxophone) plays traditional and current brass band hits from the Crescent City.

Prom dress giveaway this weekend
GREENFIELD – Once Upon a Prom Dress will be Feb. 3 and Feb. 4.
The prom dress giveaway is open to any high school student, regardless of financial status. School ID or proof of enrollment is required. Each student is eligible to receive one free formal dress, accessory item and pair of shoes.
The event is 10 a.m. to noon Feb. 3 by appointment only, then noon to 4 p.m. Feb. 3 for open shopping. The event is also open from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Feb. 4 for open shopping. The event is at Overlook at Briney Creek, 687 S. 400E., Greenfield.

Adult craft night Feb. 16
GREENFIELD – Wine charms and wine glass painting will be available at an adult craft night Feb. 16 in Greenfield.

Auction to benefit arts council
GREENFIELD – Hancock County Arts is hosting a “For the Love of Art Auction,” with online bidding now through the closing at a live auction Feb. 17.
Proceeds benefit the organization, which promotes arts in the community. Sponsor opportunities and donations are accepted through Feb. 10. Cosmic art contest announced
GREENFIELD – Cosmic-themed art is sought for an upcoming display in Depot Street Park.
Greenfield Parks and Recreation recently announced a 2024 Cosmic Art Callout, in honor of the upcoming solar eclipse. Art will be judged by age category (students and adults) and winners will have their art on display all year at Depot Street Park.
Art will be accepted until March 8 at the parks office, 280 Apple St., Greenfield weekdays between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m. Artwork must be original, and three submissions can be accepted per person.
