KNIGHTSTOWN
Richard B. “Rick” Waymire, age 66, of Knightstown, passed away on Thursday, January 25, 2024, at his residence. He was born in Greenfield on February 24, 1957, to Virginia B. (Scalf) and Ralph O. Waymire Jr.
He was the owner and mechanic of Rick’s Auto Care in Greenfield for 40 years. Rick was a member of Sugar Creek Lodge #279 in Fairland and attended Mt. Comfort Church when he was able. He enjoyed getting away to Dale Hollow where he loved boating and spending time on the lake. He enjoyed riding his Harley Davidson and was a car enthusiast. Rick cherished spending time with his family and caring for his cats.
Rick is survived by the love of his life, Becky Bishop of Knightstown; daughters, Jennifer (Sean) Snyder of Bargersville and Rebecca Waymire (fiancé, Spencer Brauchla) of Columbia City, IN; step-daughters, Jessica (Matt) Baker of Liberty, IN and April Philbeck of Richmond, IN; grandchildren, Mackenzie Jo, Juliana, Tristan, Spencer, and one on the way; step-grandchildren, Jarrod, Jana, Ethan, and Elsa; brothers, Jim Waymire of Indianapolis, Don (Karin) Waymire of Greenfield, Tim (Cathy) Waymire of Fortville; uncle, Tom Macy; and many extended family and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Ralph and Virginia Waymire; and brother, Robert O. Waymire.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, January 28, 2024, from 1:00 p.m. until 4:45 p.m. at Erlewein Mortuary & Crematory, 1484 W. US Hwy. 40, Greenfield, IN 46140. A masonic service will begin at 4:45 p.m. with a Celebration of Rick’s Life to follow. Pastor David Woods will be officiating.
