MORRISTOWN
Katherine A. “Kathi” Riggs, 65, a resident of Morristown passed away Saturday, January 20, 2024 at Hancock Regional Hospital. She was born October 23, 1958 in Greenfield to the late Raymond and Patricia (Bricker) Anderson.
Kathi was a Hancock County 4-H Cake Decorating superintendent and 4-H Leader since 1978. She also served on the Hancock County Showdown committee and was a Girl Scout Leader. Kathi was employed at Eastern Hancock School Corp. for 13 years where she ran concessions for 10 years. She was also the junior class sponsor for the class of 2000 and was on the Eastern Hancock PTO. She later worked as a secretary for Caldwell Gravel (CGS) for 16 years. Kathi enjoyed cake decorating, scrapbooking, shopping and loved attending her grandchildren’s athletic events.
Left to cherish her memory include her husband of 16 years: Randy Riggs; two daughters: Karri (Derek) Brown and Tarra (Sean) Youngclaus; brother: Jim (Stella) Anderson; Grandchildren: Devin RayAnn, Griffin Scott, Austin Harris and Waylin Edward Brown; Mason Mohr, Kenneth Blake and Cooper Joseph Youngclaus; life-long best friend and confidant: Bonnie (Andy) Craig; second mother: LaDonna Gardner; nephews: Mike (Jenny) Anderson, Chris (Emily) Borgmann and Brian (Ashley) Borgmann; nieces: Angel (Adam) Graham, Olivia Dickson, Lauren Dickson, Becki (Roger) Evans and Cheryl Herrin Bise; great-nephews: Hunter (Ivey) Hinton, Parker Evans, Dillon Graham, Carson and Ethan Anderson and Jackson Stephenson; great-nieces: Zoey Graham, Kennedy and Kylee Anderson, Jessica (Cody) Howell, Cassidy and Mallory Stephenson; very special cousin: Tina Bricker Fredgren, the Riggs and Willey families, all of the Bricker cousins, classmates from the class of 1977 and her beloved dog, Jeffrey Cline. Kathi cherished all her family and friends.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her children: Dace and Lacey Riggs; sister: Sandi (Cliff) Helms; grandparents: Kenneth and Cophean Bricker and Alzee and Bertha Anderson and her in-laws: Jesse and Reba Riggs.
Services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Thursday, January 25, 2024 at Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service, Knightstown Chapel with burial following at McCray Cemetery in Wilkinson. Visitation will be from 3:00 to 7:00 P.M. Wednesday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be given to a scholarship fund to be set up in Kathi’s name.
