GREENFIELD
Marietta Jean Bradbury, age 95, of Greenfield, passed away on Friday, January 12, 2024, at Legacy at Springhurst Health Campus in Greenfield. She was born on May 1, 1928, in Dayton, Ohio to the late James Antonidis &Nellie B. Daily.
Jean was raised on a farm with her cousins, JoAnn (Owens) Bussell and Rachel (Owens) Schoger. She was introduced to her husband Harold, by Ralph and JoAnn Bussell. Jean graduated from Lapel High School in 1946 and then married Harold on September 11, 1946. They were married for 44 years. She started her working career with Ward Stilson half days while attending high school. After raising and caring for her kids, she went to work for Wolf, Robak &Murphy as a secretary. Jean also obtained her real estate license and worked for Johnson &Dudley, Century 21, and Remax Realty Group before retiring at the age of 80. Jean was a member of Hancock Co. FOP, Order of the Eastern Star, MIBOR and numerous bowling leagues.
Left to cherish her memories are her son, James “Jim” (Janet) Bradbury; daughter, Sandy Alender; daughter-in-law, Janice Bradbury; grandchildren, Jennifer (Kenny) Davis; Shawn Bradbury, Jarrod Bradbury, Michelle Brown (Jeremy Smith), Ashley Bradbury; nine great-grandchildren, Cierra (Jordan) Hines, Shelby Gibson, Alex Bradbury, TJ Bradbury, Keegan Brown, Tyson Killebrew, Amani, Reign, and Rome Boucard; five great-great-grandchildren, Brooklynn Gibson, Emerson Hines, Hadley Gibson, Cameron Hines, and Emersyn Bradbury.
Jean is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Harold “Brad” Bradbury; son, Stephen “Steve” Bradbury; and grandson, Jason D. Bradbury.
Visitation was held on Tuesday, January 16, 2024, from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. at Erlewein Mortuary &Crematory, 1484 W. US 40, Greenfield, IN 46140. A funeral service followed the visitation at 5:00 p.m. A private burial took place on Wednesday, January 17, 2024, at Park Cemetery in Greenfield.
