INDIANAPOLIS
Carol Jackson, 81, of Indianapolis, passed away on Friday January 5, 2024, at her home. She was born on June 28, 1942 in Shelby County to the late Luther and Mary (Andis) Knopp.
She graduated from Morristown High School in 1960. Carol had a sense of humor and loved playing jokes on people. She and her late husband Ed loved to travel together. Carol enjoyed crafting, sewing, watching TV and listening to music. Family was near and dear to Carol, she loved hosting family get togethers and spending time with her grandchildren. Carol enjoyed feeding the squirrels and taking care of her pets.
Carol is survived by her daughter, Donna (Brian) Hampton; son, David (Amanda) Dodd; step children, Sally Jackson McClurg, Ron Jackson and Dan Jackson; grandchildren, Matthew Jackson, Katie Harbin, Haley Hampton, Christopher Hampton and Lanie Dodd; great grandchildren, Payten Jackson, Carter Jackson, Charlee Harbin, Maggie Harbin and Nolan Hampton; sister, Patsy Martin; along with several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, Carol is preceded in death by her husband, Ed Jackson; son, Joey Dodd; stepson, Phillip Jackson; brothers, Jimmy Knopp, Billy Knopp, Bobby Knopp and Smokey Knopp; sister, Peggy Lahey.
Services will be at 4:00 pm on Thursday January 11, 2024, at Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service Knightstown Chapel with Pastor Rob McCord officiating. Burial will follow at Glen Cove Cemetery. Visitation will be from 1:30 pm until the time of service.
