Freshman Kenzie Koch led the team in scoring and senior Brooklyn Willis had a big night in Eastern Hancock’s girls basketball team’s 66-31 victory over visiting Union County Saturday.
Koch had a game-high 24 points for the Royals, ranked No. 2 in the Indiana Coaches of Girls Sports Association Class 2A poll and receiving votes in the all classifications Indiana Basketball Coaches Association rankings.
Willis had 14 points, including 3 of 4 from 3-point range, and added seven rebounds, six assists and five steals.
Eastern Hancock is 16-1 on the season.
Senior Ruby White was a double-digit scorer with 12 points. She also had seven rebounds. Senior Makenzie O’Neal had six boards.
The Royals jumped out to a 20-5 first quarter lead and led 35-14 by halftime. Going into the final eight minutes, EH led 53-24.
Eastern Hancock returns to action Tuesday at New Castle (2-14). The Royals play host to Waldron (6-10) Saturday.

Mt. Vernon wins Super Duals
Mt. Vernon’s boys wrestling team went 5-0 Saturday to win the Jennings County Super Duals.
The Marauders earned victories over Decatur Central (42-33), New Castle (41-27), Jennings County (56-17), Greenwood (49-24) and West Washington (66-9).
Mt. Vernon returns to Wednesday for a dual at North Central before competing Saturday in the Hoosier Heritage Conference tournament at Pendleton Heights High School.
