Glory Bound!

Wanda Weaver, age 88, was welcomed into the arms of Jesus on 12/27/2023, at her home, in Bloomington Indiana.

Wanda loved her family, her red hat ladies’ group, working at Sam’s Club, and second-hand stores.

She spent much time looking for the best bargains. She grew up during the Great Depression and took absolutely nothing for granted, having multiple and inventive uses for everything!

When rheumatoid arthritis took the flexibility from her hands, she incorporated channel locks to start her car- never telling anyone or complaining about it. It was just discovered one day. She rarely asked for help for anything. Wanda was the true definition of an independent woman!

She was an extremely hard worker, ultimately retiring at the age of 84. She loved her most recent job at Sam’s Club as a food demonstrator, winning an award for the best demonstrator during her career there. She loved giving samples out and feeding others. It was her nature to make sure no one was hungry.

Born August 6, 1935, she saw a lot of the world many of us can’t even imagine. It ultimately helped to shape her into the strong woman she was.

She was the daughter of Mary (Miller) and Obanon Taylor. She was a member of the Church of Christ.

She will be reunited with her husband, James Weaver, who preceded her in death. Others joining that wonderful reunion will be her parents, her brother J.C., her 3 sisters: Lucille, Catherine, and Barbara Jo.

Wanda leaves behind faithful family and friends, including her pride and joy…. her son, Gregory Weaver and his wife, Michelle. The best grandkids in the world (per her) Allen and Carrie Weaver. She would be sure to reprimand us if we did not include the most recent love of her life- her great grandson, Reece Weaver.

She left us with many memories that will continue to make us smile and laugh!

There will be graveside services at Grovelawn Cemetery in Pendleton, Indiana on Saturday, Jan 6, 2024 at 1:00 p.m.

Material donations can be made to your local second-hand store, so that others may experience the joy Wanda did in finding the ultimate treasure.

You will be missed Wanda, we love you!

Many thanks to Southern Care Hospice Bloomington, and many friends and family that have been our village these last several weeks. We could not have honored Wanda’s wishes without you!
