BRYAN, TX
Mary M. (Raymond) Poole, 96 of Bryan, TX, and a former long-time resident of Greenfield, passed away on Tuesday, December 26, 2023, at St. Joseph Regional Hospital in Bryan, TX. She was born the daughter of Curtis and Mary Elizabeth (Bolly) Raymond on August 31, 1927, in Henryville, IN. Mary graduated from West Baden High School in 1946.
She married her late husband, George Maurice Poole on July 27, 1956.
Mary spent her working years at both Indiana Bell as an Operator and Riley Park Tire in Greenfield as a Bookkeeper. She was a member at Greenfield First Presbyterian Church and the Women’s Association at Hawks Tail. Mary also enjoyed playing Bridge, and volunteering at the Hancock County Public Library, where she was involved with the Literacy Coalition and the Spelling Bee.
Mary is survived by her daughter, Toni Poole (Wayne Schlosser) of Bryan, TX; granddaughter, Ella Poole; two step-grandchildren, Emaleigh, and Bayleigh Jones. She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, George; son, Kurt R Poole; brothers, Curtis, Thomas, Ralph, George, and Doug; sisters, Vonnie, Dorothy, and Agnes.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, January 4, 2024, from 12:30pm to 2:30pm at Erlewein Mortuary &Crematory, 1484 W. US 40, Greenfield, IN 46140. A funeral service will be immediately after at 2:30pm at the mortuary. Burial will follow the service at Park Cemetery in Greenfield.
