Prep roundup: Royals move to 13-0 with win at Monroe Central

In a Mid-Eastern Conference game at Monroe Central, Eastern Hancock’s girls basketball team improved to 13-0 overall and 5-0 in the MEC with a 66-35 victory Thursday.

Brooklyn Willis and Kenzie Koch had 15 points each. Willis hit five 3-pointers.

The Royals are ranked No. 2 in the Class 2A ICGSA (Indiana Coaches of Girls Sports Association) poll.

Eastern Hancock returns to action in the Lawrence North Holiday Tournament on Dec. 30.

The Royals are schedule to play Class 4A Elkhart at 11:45 a.m.

Boys basketball

Cougars continue best start, improve to 8-0

Greenfield-Central’s boys basketball team extended its best start in school history to eight games with a big win at Rushville Wednesday.

The Cougars led 39-9 at halftime and went on to get a 58-23.

Junior Braylon Mullins had 16 points and Boston Willard added 14 and added four assists and five steals.

Dallas Freeman had seven points and nine steals. Cooper Robertson had six points and six rebounds. Brady Johnson had five points.

Jacob Hinton had four points and four boards. Sophomores Tucker Brown and Cole Mullins had three points each.

The Cougars are ranked No. 10 in the Class 4A Associated Press poll and No. 12 in the Indiana Basketball Coaches Association rankings.

Greenfield-Central (8-0) returns to action at the Morristown Holiday Showcase Dec. 28. The Cougars play Tri-Central (6-1) at 10 a.m. and Bishop Chatard (3-1) at 5 p.m.
