Children’s art classes in January
GREENFIELD – A children’s art course is coming up in January.
Greenfield Parks and Recreation Art Studio has announced a three-part mixed-media course for children in grades kindergarten through sixth. Classes are 5:30-6:30 p.m. Jan. 3, 10 and 17 in the lower level of the Patricia Elmore Center in Riley Park. Register at parks.greenfieldin.org.
Socks 4 Troops collection at local store
GREENFIELD – Shoe Sensation in Greenfield is collecting items for Socks 4 Troops and Veterans.
Socks can be dropped off at the store, 2237 Barrett Drive, Greenfield now through Dec. 31. The store will work with bikersinc.org, a nonprofit organization that supports veterans.
SH superintendent search input sought
NEW PALESTINE – Southern Hancock schools are seeking community input on a new superintendent.
The school board is using a university search team to aid in the process. A group of professors from Ball State, Indiana State, Indiana and Purdue universities are collecting data about what the community believes are strengths, challenges and other important aspects to help select the next superintendent.
