GREENFIELD
Kurt Brian Mitchell, age 58, of Greenfield, walked into the arms of Jesus on Monday, December 11, 2023. He was born in Indianapolis during a snowstorm on February 26, 1965 to Kay (Martin) Mitchell and Richard J. Mitchell. Kurt was one of 10 kids and graduated from Mt. Vernon High School with the class of 1983.
He survived a car train accident at 19 years of age and made the most of his life with a TBI and being wheelchair bound. Kurt loved his family and enjoyed the holidays, especially Christmas. He loved coffee, talking on the phone, bonfires and telling jokes. He was loved and will be deeply missed by his family and friends.
Kurt is survived by his loving siblings, Mike Mitchell, Steve Mitchell, Carrie Tompkins, Jay Mitchell, Jim Mitchell, Mark Mitchell, Jeff Mitchell and Marcy Bradway; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Kay and Richard.
Private family services are being handled by Erlewein Mortuary &Crematory in Greenfield. Kurt’s final resting place will be at Washington Park East Cemetery. Friends may share a memory or condolence at www.erleweinmortuary.com.
