Trees on Main in downtown Fortville

FORTVILLE – Stroll through The Alley in downtown Fortville for the first “Trees on Main” display.

An assortment of 20 fresh Christmas trees were donated by Sambol’s Tree Farm in Fortville and decorated by local businesses and organizations.

The display is hosted by Fortville Action Inc., a volunteer organization that focuses on enhancing the community. It’s free to stroll the display, which will remain available throughout the Christmas and New Year season.

Blood drives coming up

HANCOCK COUNTY – Several mobile blood drives are coming up soon in Hancock County.

Blood drives are set for Dec. 20 at Hancock County Wellness Center in McCordsville, Dec. 21 at Hancock Regional Hospital, Dec. 22 at the Hancock County Sheriff’s Office, Dec. 27 at Leo’s Market and Eatery in Greenfield, and Dec. 27 at Hancock County Wellness Center McCordsville.

Day of Love and Caring Dec. 24

GREENFIELD – The annual Day of Love and Caring is coming to the Hancock County Fairgrounds from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Christmas Eve, Dec. 24.

Parents, grandparents and guardians can select Christmas gifts for children and clothes. Hot meals will be on site and children can visit with Santa and Mrs. Claus. Organizers suggest bringing two adults: one to monitor children, while the other secretly “shops” at the event.

The program is sponsored through God’s Open Arms Ministry, in addition to Hancock County Agricultural Association, Journey Bags of Hancock County, Changing Footprints and the Lisa Muegge Feast of Plenty. Christmas Eve Facebook video returns

GREENFIELD – The Hancock County 911 Center’s annual Christmas Eve Facebook Video is scheduled to air at 8 p.m. Dec. 24.

The video has become a holiday tradition for local families to see scenes and faces of local residents and public safety officials preparing for Christmas. This marks the fifth annual video. View the video at facebook.com/HancockIN911.
