GREENFIELD
Mary Jane (Farmer) Wheeler-Dyer, age 70, of Greenfield, passed away Monday, December
11, 2023 at Hancock Regional Hospital. Born on September 3, 1953, in Indianapolis, she was the daughter of
Mary Lou (Shoemake) Farmer and Thurman Presley Farmer. Mary attended Greenfield-Central High School. In
1984, she married Frank Dyer Sr. in Greenfield.
She spent her working career being a business owner in Greenfield. For 13 years, she owned the Frosty Mug
with her husband, Frank. Mary also owned and ran Dyer’s Auto for nearly 20 years. She was a lifetime member
of the Greenfield Conservation Club. In her free time, Mary enjoyed playing cards and going to the casino. She
loved spending time with her family and her dogs.
Mary is survived by her sisters, Linda Broyles of Markleville, Patty (Tom) Egerton of Ingalls, Pamela Field of
Greenfield, Lisa (Jon) Meek of Greenfield and Starla (Milton) Richards; grandchildren, Chance Wheeler of
Greenfield; and great-grandchildren, Devon and Daelon Wheeler; nieces, Angel Broyles of Markleville, Lori
Davidson of Fortville, Sheri Bishop of Portage, MI, and Mary Brown of Greenfield; nephews, Keith Plank of
FL, Thomas Egerton of Ingalls, Herchel Lynn of Greenfield, and Kyle Field of Chicago; and first husband,
Danny Wheeler. She was preceded in death by her parents, Mary Lou and Thurman; husband, Frank; children,
Damon K. Wheeler and Danielle Marie Wheeler; and grandson, Cody Wheeler.
Services will be held on Saturday, December 16, 2023 at Erlewein Mortuary & Crematory, 1484 W. US Hwy.
40, Greenfield, IN 46140. Visitation will be held from 11:00 a.m. until 3:00 p.m. The funeral service will begin
at 3:00 p.m.
