HCPL to host holiday jazz concert
GREENFIELD – Free jazz concert “Holiday Time in the City” is coming up at 6:30 p.m. Dec. 18 at the Hancock County Public Library, 900 W. McKenzie Road, Greenfield.
The concert will feature a performance by Dorian “Hurricane” Phelps, an Indianapolis jazz drummer, as well as Allison Victoria, a singer, songwriter, emcee and self-taught musician from Indianapolis. Register at hcplibrary.org.
“Christmastide” features three musical groups
GREENFIELD – Join holiday festivities with three local musical ensembles.
Christmastide Concert is set for 7 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 21 at the H.J. Ricks Centre for the Arts, 122 W. Main St., Greenfield. The Brandywine Wind Concert Band, Brandywine Jazz Band and Greenfield Orchestra will perform; admission is free, donations are accepted.
Downtown holiday events planned for Dec. 16
GREENFIELD – Greenfield Main Street is hosting several holiday events in downtown Greenfield Dec. 16.
Reindeer on Main is a free event featuring animals in the alley next to Griggsby Station, along with a vintage VW photo bus and gourmet hot cocoa and treats to purchase. Nearby, the BOHO Holiday Artisan Market will take place in the Bradley Hall events building, featuring local vendors. The Ho Ho Ho Holiday Breakfast is from 8 a.m. to noon Dec. 2 at Bradley Hall, 2 W. Main St., Greenfield. Seating is limited; visit facebook.com/GreenfieldMainStreet for details and tickets.
Homemakers host free Christmas movie event
GREENFIELD – A free Christmas movie night for the community is coming up Dec. 13 at the H.J. Ricks Centre for the Arts.
The Hancock County Extension Homemakers are hosting “Home Alone 2” at 6 p.m followed by “White Christmas.” The theater is located at 122 W. Main St., Greenfield. Participants are encouraged to bring their own snacks.
