Royals lose close one at home

CHARLOTTESVILLE — In a tight game from start to finish, Eastern Hancock’s boys basketball team lost 56-52, at home, to Northeastern Friday.

The Royals led by two after the first quarter, 10-8, were down two at half, 28-26, and trailed by three heading into the fourth quarter, 39-36.

Kayden Ruble led EH scorers with 21 points. He had 13 in the second half. Luke Morris finished with 12. Eli Manship scored six points and Luke Schilling contributed five.

Charlie Halcomb and Caiden Willis had three points apiece and Caden Powers scored two.

Northeastern (3-2) was led by game-leading scorer Landon Scarrette with 22. Dae Lundy added 19.

Eastern Hancock dropped to 2-2 on the season, but looks to keep its unbeaten Mid-Eastern Conference record intact tonight.

Eastern Hancock (2-2, 1-0) plays host to Daleville (3-2, 1-1).
