Greenfield-Central improved to 3-0 on the road and 3-0 overall with a 59-50 victory at Decatur Central Tuesday.
It was the season opener for the Hawks.
G-C junior Braylon Mullins led all scorers with 28 points. He scored 14 in the fourth quarter and 19 in the second half.
Junior Dallas Freeman helped get the Cougars off to a good start. He had eight of his 16 points in the first quarter. Freeman had four of G-C’s eight 3-point field goals.
Boston Willard added 12 points.
Decatur Central also had three double-figure scorers. Melakih Cunningham led the Hawks with 18. Ayden Lawson scored 11 and KC Berry added 10.
Greenfield-Central (3-0) is back in action with the Hoosier Heritage Conference opener at rival New Palestine (2-0) Friday.

New Pal improves to 3-0 in HHC
New Palestine’s girls basketball team won for the third straight time, all Hoosier Heritage Conference games, and got back to .500 (5-5) with a 56-49 win at home over Shelbyville Tuesday.
Sophomore Sadey Hughbanks scored a career-best 17 points to top all Dragon scorers. Vivian Miller and Kylee Beranek scored 10 points each.
The Dragons continue their stretch of HHC games with a home contest Friday at 6 p.m. against Greenfield-Central, the first of a girls-boys basketball doubleheader.

Eastern Hancock looking for HOF nominees
The Eastern Hancock Athletic Boosters are seeking nominations for the 2024 class of the Eastern Hancock Athletic Hall of Fame.
The Hall of Fame recognizes the achievements of former athletes, teams, coaches, administrators, and other contributors to the athletic programs at Eastern Hancock, Charlottesville, Westland, and Wilkinson High Schools.
To be eligible, an athlete must be seven years removed from competition, coaches five years removed, and teams 10 years removed.
Nominations are due to the EH Athletic Director’s office or by email to [email protected] by 3:30 PM on December 15, 2023.
