Children’s choir to perform Christmas concert

FORTVILLE – The Hancock County Children’s Choir has announced its annual Christmas concert.

“The Song of Christmas” will be performed at 2:30 p.m. and 7 p.m. Dec. 9 at Mt. Vernon High School, 1776 W. Ind. 234, Fortville. Tickets are $6-$10 with a “pay what you can” option at hancockcountychildrenschoir.thundertix.com.

Festival of Christmas Trees this month

GREENFIELD – The Twenty North Gallery in downtown Greenfield features the Festival of Christmas Trees this month.

Several businesses and nonprofit organizations have decorated a tree in the gallery; vote for your favorite and two winners will be announced Dec. 16. Trees are by Bentley’s Buddies & Friends, the James Whitcomb Riley Boyhood Home, Dr. Georgia Knotek, Brandywine Winds, KidsPlay Inc. and NineStar Connect. The gallery also has an artisan shoppe, as well as a display of “Gone But Not Forgotten,” artistic scenes and people from the past.

The gallery is located at 20 N. State St., Greenfield. Hours are 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Wednesdays and Thursdays; and 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays. Visit hancockcountyarts.org for more.

Talent show to support new peace project

GREENFIELD – Rotary Club of Greenfield will host “Rotary’s Got Talent,” a free family-friendly event at 4 p.m. Dec. 10.

The event, at the historic H.J. Ricks Centre for the Arts in downtown Greenfield, aims to gather the community for an evening of entertainment and support towards the creation of Greenfield’s upcoming Rotary Peace Park and the city’s first official Peace Pole, a symbol for peace and unity.

Santa and Mrs. Claus will have a meet-and-greet at 4 p.m. and the show begins at 5 p.m. and will include vocalists, duets, and a magical display by talented artists within the community. Tickets are free, but registration is required at https://form.jotform.com/233165569154158. The website also provides a way for people to donate to the project.

Community choir to perform Christmas show

GREENFIELD – “The Most Wonderful Time of the Year” is the theme of Greenfield Community Choir’s concert coming up.

The group will perform a holiday show at 4 p.m. Dec. 10 at Bradley United Methodist Church, 210 W. Main St., Greenfield. Donations are accepted; cookies and punch will be served following the concert.

Riley Home holiday event Dec. 10

GREENFIELD – Christmas at the Riley Home Open House is coming up from 5-7 p.m. Dec. 10.
