Children’s theater to present play

GREENFIELD – Kids Play Inc. presents “The Snow White Variety Show” Nov. 10, 11 and 12 in downtown Greenfield.

The play features a twist on the classic story where the host of “Real Talk with Fairy Tale Legends” gets to the truth of the Snow White story. Each of the seven dwarves seems to have their own version of how things really went down.

Tickets are available now or at the door an hour before showtime. Tickets are $5 at Hometown Comics, 1040 N. State St., Greenfield. The show is at 7 p.m. Nov. 10 and 11 and at 2 p.m. Nov. 12 at the H.J. Ricks Centre for the Arts, 122 W. Main St., Greenfield. For more, visit KidsPlay, Inc. on Facebook.

Lincoln event planned Nov. 11

GREENFIELD – The Hancock County Historical Society is sponsoring a free discussion on Abraham Lincoln, called The Lincoln Roadshow.

The event, commemorating the 160th anniversary of the Gettysburg Address, will include insight into Lincoln’s local impact, including the Lincoln Funeral Train and route it took through Greenfield on April 30, 1865.

Chris Allen, a Lincoln scholar of the Lincoln Special Project, will present at 11 a.m. Nov. 11 at the Chapel in the Park, located at Riley Park in Greenfield. For more information, call 317-462-7780 or visit hancockhistory.org.

HCPL accepting book donations

GREENFIELD – Clean out your shelves and get a tax break for helping the Hancock County Public Library by donating used media from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 11.

Drop off gently used books, DVDs, CDs and video games at the Bookmobile garage on the north side of the central library, 900 W. McKenzie Road, Greenfield. The Friends of the Library is a non-profit charitable group of volunteers who raise money through the sale of donated items. The next sale will be Nov. 16-20.

Ricks booked with holiday programs

GREENFIELD – The H.J. Ricks Centre for the Arts has several events lined up this November and December, including charity shows around the holidays.

The Friends of the Theater, Hancock County Extension Homemakers and Rotary Club of Greenfield are all hosting events at the downtown Greenfield theater and stage this December. Additionally, a jazz orchestra, Elvis impersonator and classic Christmas rock tribute band is coming with holiday shows.The National Road Music Series continues with local and regional acts as well.
