HANCOCK COUNTY — Two Greenfield people have been charged with going onto the property of another county resident on Oct. 15 and stealing several items.

Wiley Lindell Parsons, 56, 2000 block of South 100E, and Jennifer Irene Robbins, 42, 5000 block of West 300N, were both arrested Sunday, Oct. 29 and charged with a Level 4 felony count of burglary of a dwelling as well as a Level 5 felony count of burglary.

Both cases have been opened in Hancock County Circuit Court with initial court appearances pending for Thursday, Nov. 2.

According to a probable cause affidavit, officials from the Hancock County Sheriff’s Department were called for a security check in the 2000 block of West 200S, Greenfield around 11 p.m. Oct. 15.

Once there, officials noted the caretaker of the property shared security footage of a burglary suspect later identified as Parsons who was captured on multiple cameras earlier in the day. A vehicle was also identified as being on the property that officials found belonged to Parsons’ father, the report stated.

The affidavit says Parsons was identified on the video as being with an unknown woman who was later identified as Robbins as the two were captured walking on the property with a dog on multiple security cameras. The video footage captured Parson also carrying 10 spools of wire and putting them in his van. He was also captured carrying a boat trolling motor and an antique wood table.

Officials noted the things Parsons and Robbins have been accused of taking were in a carriage house and the front porch of the main residence where they were being stored, the affidavit said. To enter the carriage house officials stated someone would have had to remove an unlocked padlock, remove the latch, open the door and enter.

On Oct. 16, other Sheriff’s officials helped identify Parsons due to numerous law enforcement interactions over the past two decades, officials said in the affidavit. A look into Parson’s court records shows he has had 10 different criminal cases with the Level 4 burglary being the most serious offense.

According to the affidavit, Robbins, who a Parsons family members helped identify, is also no stranger to law enforcement, with four different criminal cases on her court records including battery and drug charges. In addition to the new burglary case Robbins now also faces, court records show a Level 6 felony count of possession of methamphetamine from a different incident on the day of her arrest, Oct. 29. According to court records, that case was officially opened Monday in Hancock County Superior Court 2.
