4-H Open House Nov. 2

GREENFIELD – Learn about Hancock County’s 4-H program in an upcoming community event.

The 4-H Open House is scheduled for 5-7 p.m. Nov. 2 at the Hancock County 4-H Fairgrounds, Sarah Burke 4-H Exhibit Hall, 620 Apple St., Greenfield. Learn about projects, clubs, Mini 4-H and leadership opportunities. Youth in kindergarten through 12th grade will receive a prize for enrolling in 4-H at the event.

Vintage market Nov. 4

GREENFIELD – The annual Country Vintage Market will be from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Nov. 4 at the Hancock County Fairgrounds, 620 Apple St., Greenfield. The event, hosted by Hancock County Extension Homemakers as a fundraiser for their organization, features hand-made items, primitives, baked goods and more. Admission and parking are free. Community connections event coming up

GREENFIELD – Purdue Extension Hancock County will host its annual Community Connections event from 4-7 pm. Nov. 11.

The event will feature a chicken noodle dinner benefiting the organization’s programming (cash or check only) with adult meals $15 and youth meals for those under age 8 at $8. Homemade ice cream is available for $4.

The event is designed to help the community learn more about 4-H, agriculture and natural resources and health and human sciences programming. A silent auction will be from 4-6:30 p.m. and there will also be free children’s activities and door prizes. The event is at the Sarah Burke Building of the Hancock County 4-H Fairgrounds, 620 Apple St., Greenfield.

Farm conference Dec. 1

GREENFIELD – Purdue Extension Hancock County will host a conference Dec. 1.

Topics include broadband mapping and resources; pesticides; agronomic management; and railroad tracks/utility wires. The event is 9:45 a.m. to noon Dec. 1 at NineStar Connect, 2243 E. Main St., Greenfield. Registration and breakfast begins at 9:15 a.m. Cost is $10; call 317-4652-1113 to learn more or to register.

Homemakers gauging interest on leadership program

GREENFIELD – Local extension homemakers are gauging interest on a new leadership program.
