Robby Tompkins, director of philanthropy of Second Harvest Food Bank of East Central Indiana, accepted a check from Steve Nevitt, store director at Needler’s Fresh Market in honor of World Food Day Oct. 16. Needler’s parent company Fresh Encounter Inc. and their customers donated a total of $50,000 to local food banks following a back-to-school food drive. Customer donations combined with a donation from Fresh Encounter were distributed to eight local food banks supporting over 10,000 meals to families through East Central Indiana, according to a press release.
