GREENFIELD – A local hospice organization was recently named in the top 20% of hospice providers in the nation.

For the fifth consecutive year, Suburban Hospice was honored by the Strategic Healthcare Programs with a SHPBest award.

The organization notes the accomplishment as, “truly a remarkable and noteworthy accomplishment to sustain such a high level of quality over an extended period of time.”

Suburban Hospice is a collaborative effort between Hancock Health, Riverview Health and Witham Health Services built on a foundation of experience and trust and a strong commitment to providing excellence in end-of-life care for all the communities it serves.

The award recognizes hospice providers that consistently provide high quality service to families and caregivers of patients receiving hospice care.

The award names Suburban Hospice in the top 20% of hospice providers throughout the nation. Award recipients were determined by reviewing and ranking the overall satisfaction scores for more than 3,000 home health providers and over 1,750 hospice providers.

According to Suburban Hospice Executive Director Jeannie Crowe, the award reflects the loving support provided by her team of caregivers to families and patients.

“We are thrilled to receive this award,” she said in a press release. “And I am so proud of the Suburban Hospice care providers. Our nurses and social workers, chaplains, aides, physicians and nurse practitioners believe that they were called to this work, and that shows in their compassion and dedication to their patients. It is our privilege and honor to be a part of a very difficult but sacred time in the lives of our families.”
