Benefit 5K coming to Southeastway Park

INDIANAPOLIS – A Bee the Light 5K is coming up, honoring Shelby Kraft who passed away in 2022.

The event is set for 9 a.m. to noon Oct. 14 at Southeastway Park, 5624 S. Carroll Road, Indianapolis. Proceeds will be donated to the International Rett Syndrome Foundation. Rett Syndrome is an incurable neurological disorder, primarily affecting girls and women, which can lead to significant disability.

Shelby Kraft is the namesake for Kindness Delivered, a faith-based mobile ministry that delivers acts of kindness. For more, visit kindnessdelivered.org/beethelight.

Latin jazz concert set at HCPL

GREENFIELD – Latin Jazz musicians Pavel and Direct Contact will perform a free concert at Hancock County Public Library at 6:30 p.m. this Thursday, Oct. 12.

Pavel & Direct Contact is known for their energetic, fiery performances, much in the vein of the modern pyrotechnicians of today’s Latin Jazz world. Led by Internationally-known Dominican pianist and Chicago Music Awards Nominee Pavel Polanco-Safadit, Direct Contact brings an experience of Latin Jazz, Salsa, and Latin-infused American pop song.

Nighttime animal program coming to camp

GREENFIELD – Learn about nocturnal animals in an upcoming event at Nameless Creek Camp.

Creatures of the Night is set for 7-9 p.m. Oct. 28 at the camp, 2675 S. 600 E., Greenfield. Tickets are $15 for one, $25 for two, $35 for three or $50 for four or more registrants.
