Early voting starts in less than two weeks

HANCOCK COUNTY — With early voting for the 2023 Municipal Election starting in less than two weeks, the list of voting centers and times have been announced.

Early voting

Starting Oct. 11, Hancock County residents will be able to vote early at the Hancock County Courthouse, 9 E. Main St., through the north entrance. Times will be from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. on weekdays from Oct. 11 to Nov. 3. On Nov. 6, voting will be available from 8 a.m. to noon. For election day, the voting center will move to the Hancock County Annex.

Beginning on Oct. 23, in addition to the courthouse location, Hancock County Public Library Greenfield Branch, 900 W. McKenzie Road, will be open weekdays from 2-6 p.m. until Nov. 3, with Oct. 28 and Nov. 4 open from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. The Sugar Creek Branch,  5731 W. U.S. 52, will also be open the same days and times.

In Fortville, the Mt. Vernon administration building, 1806 Ind. 234, will be open starting Oct. 23 until Nov. 3 weekdays from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. It will also be open 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Oct. 28 and Nov. 4. This location will not be available on Election Day.

Election Day

Five locations in total will be open for Election day on Nov. 7, from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. The Hancock County Annex, Hancock County Public Library Greenfield Branch and the Sugar Creek Branch will remain voting centers. Two new voting centers added will be McCordsville Town Hall, 6280 W 800 N, and Shirley Park Shelter House, 210 2nd St.

Public testing of the voting machines will take place on Oct. 5.
