German Fest coming up Sept. 30

GREENFIELD – German Fest will return to Faith Lutheran Church Sept. 30

The annual fundraiser that features traditional German food had been drive-through only for the last few years but will be in-person 4-7 p.m. Sept. 30. Tickets are $15 for an adult meal and $7 for ages 2-12 and includes pork roast, brats, sauerkraut, hot dogs, macaroni and cheese, German potato salad, green beans, coleslaw, applesauce, dessert and tea or lemonade. There will also be family activities, such as a photo booth and crafts.

Proceeds benefit Faith Lutheran Preschool. The event will be at 200 W. McKenzie Road, Greenfield.

New fire station open house Sept. 30

MCCORDSVILLE – The community is invited to check out the new Vernon Township Fire Station 432 at an upcoming event.

A public open house is scheduled for 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Sept. 30 at 6091 W. 900N., McCordsville. Firefighters will be available giving station tours.

Fall dinner to benefit local church

WILLOW BRANCH – An upcoming fall dinner will benefit a local church’s renovation project.

Willow Branch United Methodist Church will host its fall dinner from 4-7 p.m. this Saturday, Sept. 23 with inside dining or carry-out options. Menu is a cube steak meal for $15 or a homemade chicken and noodles meal for $12. Meals include mashed potatoes and gravy, green beans, corn, salad, dessert and drink. Children ages 5 and under eat free. The church is located at 6422 N. Thomas St., Willow Branch.

Strike Out Drugs fundraiser Nov. 4

GREENFIELD – The annual Strike Out Drugs fundraiser is coming up 5-8 p.m. Nov. 4.

Support helps agencies like Hancock County D.A.R.E., Celebrate Recovery of Brandywine Community Church and Neighborhoods Against Substance Abuse “strike out drugs” in the community through bowling, auctions and more. The event will be at Strike Force Lanes, 1539 W. Main st., Greenfield.

Competitive open bowling is for teams. Family bowling is $18 for adults and $15 for youth high school and under; three games plus shoes are included. Purchase tickets at the NASA table prior to bowling. There will be score-based prizes, as well as door prizes and a silent auction.

Scarecrow Stroll coming to New Pal

NEW PALESTINE – New Palestine Main Street is seeking scarecrows to decorate the town.

The Scarecrow Stroll will be featured at Harvest Fest Oct. 21. Scarecrows are needed by Oct. 6; businesses, organizations, scout troops and more are invited to be creative and promote their group through a scarecrow. Contact Diana Boss for information at [email protected].

Benefit concert coming up for Love INC

GREENFIELD – The Indianapolis Brass Choir will perform as a fundraiser for Love In the Name of Christ.

“An Evening of Entertainment” is at 4 p.m. Oct. 15 at Brandywine Community Church, 1551 E. New Road, Greenfield. Admission is free; a good will offering will be taken to benefit Love INC.
