Fall dinner to benefit local church

WILLOW BRANCH – An upcoming fall dinner will benefit a local church’s renovation project.

Willow Branch United Methodist Church will host its fall dinner from 4-7 p.m. Sept. 23 with inside dining or carry-out options. Menu is a cube steak meal for $15 or a homemade chicken and noodles meal for $12. Meals include mashed potatoes and gravy, green beans, corn, salad, dessert and drink. Children ages 5 and under eat free. The church is located at 6422 N. Thomas St., Willow Branch.

FFA hog roast coming up

CHARLOTTESVILLE – The Eastern Hancock FFA will host its hog roast fundraiser from 5-7 p.m. Sept. 15 at a football game.

The event will be in the grassy area between the ticket booth and tennis courts at Eastern Hancock High School, 10320 250N., Charlottesville.

McCordsville to host trunk or treat event

MCCORDSVILLE – The town of McCordsville is seeking participants for a Trunk or Treat event.

The event will be 4-6 p.m. Oct. 29 at Outlook Church, 6531 N. 600W., McCordsville. Participants should decorate their vehicle or trunk space for a chance to win prizes. Candy must be individually wrapped and sealed, and ready to hand out by 4 p.m. To register, email [email protected].

Benefit rock concert Sept. 22

GREENFIELD – A benefit rock show is coming up Sept. 22 in downtown Greenfield.

Revel for a Cause will feature three bands from 6-10 p.m. Sept. 22 at Depot Street Park. The inaugural event will include The Native Howl, The Gasoline Gypsies and Mercury’s Muse. There will also be kids activities, including a bubble station, street performers, face painters, a caricaturist and balloon artist.

While the concert is free, there will be opportunities to donate to two local nonprofits: the Talitha Koum recovery house and The Landing, which offers recovery support for teens and adults.

Fall That Jazz Sept. 23

GREENFIELD – Nameless Creek Camp’s Fall That Jazz Gala is coming up at 7 p.m. Sept. 23, featuring the Cool City Band.

Singer Cathy Morris will be joining Roy Geesa and the band to entertain. The $60 ticket includes dinner, drinks, entertainment, raffles and a live auction. Funds contribute to the camp’s annual operating budget.
