Free dental services Sept. 9

GREENFIELD – Free Dentistry Day is taking place at Creative Smiles in Greenfield, offering free dental services of cleaning, one extraction or one filling to people who may not otherwise receive basic or routine care.

The event is Sept. 9 at the Creative Smiles office, 168 E. New Road, Greenfield. No reservations are necessary, though people will be seen on a first-come, first-served basis starting at 8 a.m. Those who wish to learn more or donate toward the program may call 317-462-7700.

Food drive Saturday at Walmart

GREENFIELD – Rotary Club of Greenfield’s annual Fill a Truck, Fill a Pantry event is 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. this Saturday, Sept. 9.

Drop off non-perishable food items to the truck parked on Walmart’s north side. All donations go to local food pantries.

College, career fair coming up

GREENFIELD – A college and career fair is coming up in September.

Hancock County Leaders in Navigating Knowledge is sponsoring the event from 6-7:30 p.m. Sept. 11 at the Hancock County 4-H Fairgrounds. There will be 50-60 college, career and military representatives on site. Janet White, education officer for the Community Foundation of Hancock County, will be giving a scholarship preparation workshop twice that evening. EH family to benefit from silent auction, car event

GREENFIELD – A benefit event is coming up to help an Eastern Hancock family fight cancer.

Evan Roberts and his family of five will benefit from proceeds of a silent auction and truck/car meet at 5 p.m. Sept. 16.

The event will be at the Harper Truck/Car Meet and drag racing in a field at 168 N. 400W., Greenfield. Cost is $10 per person to watch the drag racing, which begins at 8 p.m. The silent auction begins at 5 p.m.

Evan Roberts, an Eastern Hancock alumni, is facing an aggressive form of cancer. All proceeds will support the Roberts family, including cash donations, checks made out to Evan Roberts, or cash app under Evan Roberts Foundation. Donations to the silent auction are still being accepted by calling Shantell Tharpe, 317-225-7200.

Dodgeball fundraiser this Saturday

GREENFIELD – The annual Great Futures Dodgeball Tournament is coming up this Saturday, Sept. 9.

The event benefits the Boys and Girls Clubs of Hancock County and will be at the club, 715 E. Lincoln St., Greenfield starting at 10 a.m.

Cost is $25 per individual or $150 for a team of six to play. Prizes will go to the best-dressed teams and overall winner of the tournament. Visit bgchc.com or call 317-462-2404 for more.
