Turkey Day 5K registration open

GREENFIELD – The annual Thanksgiving Day run in downtown Greenfield is scheduled for Nov. 23.The Turkey Day 5K will be at 9 a.m.; price is $30 plus a $2.80 signup fee. Price increases to $35 after Aug. 31. There is also a one-mile event, starting at 9 a.m. for $20; price increases to $25 after Aug. 31. Proceeds of the race benefit Greenfield Parks & Recreation; Hope House; and Greenfield Main Street.

New Palestine yearbooks in

NEW PALESTINE — The 2022-23 New Palestine High School yearbooks are in. Seniors who graduated from NPHS in 2023 may pick up their yearbooks in the main office during school hours.

Current NPHS students should have been delivered their yearbooks in homeroom. If not, they can pick theirs up from yearbook adviser Andrew Smith in Room 143 before or after school. A limited number of extra yearbooks are on sale for $75 for students who did not pre-order.

Average home sale price $330k in Hancock County

GREENFIELD – The average year-to-date home sale price increased 2.5% to $330,099 compared to July 2022 in Hancock County, according to a press release this week from F.C. Tucker. However, available housing inventory also continued to decrease – down 33.6% compared to July of last year.

In Hancock County in July, pending home sales decreased, down 20.4% compared to this time last year.

Across the 16-county central Indiana region, the average July 2023 home sale price was $314,321, a decrease of 5.4% from July last year.

Money workshop coming up at library

GREENFIELD – An event coming up is designed to help people create a budget, analyze spending habits and find ways to save money and live frugally.

Christa Cummings, client relationship representative for First Merchants Bank in New Palestine, will speak at 6:30 p.m. Aug. 24 at the central branch of the Hancock County Public Library, 900 W.
