NEW PALESTINE
Althea Rudisell, born September 28, 1929, went to be with her Lord on August 11, 2023. Originally from Grahn, Kentucky, she moved to Indianapolis in 1948. She worked on the assembly line at P.R. Mallory where she met her husband, Francis Rudisell. They married in 1951. Through the years, she ran service station businesses with Francis and worked as a cosmetologist. They had two daughters and moved to New Palestine, where she became active at Zion Lutheran Church and worked as a “lunch lady” in Southern Hancock Schools.
Althea loved her family, friends and her church. She is lovingly remembered for her faith, resilience, humor and quiet wit. She was preceded in death by her parents, Leonard and Arlie Wilson; her husband, Francis; and long-term friend and companion, Roy May. Also preceding her were her brothers, Talmage, Harold, Eurse and Ercel, as well as Ercel’s wife, Geneva. She is survived by her daughters, Beverly Kay Parker (David) and Wanda Rudisell; stepson, Ed Rudisell (Vicki); grandchildren, Emily Bumps (Todd Ramsey), Dana Parker Murphy (Ryan), Amy Paff (Derek) and Andrew Parker (Kody); great-grandchildren, McKayla, Aiden, Abby, Owen, Wyn and Eldon; and her sister, Yvonne Blevins Knipp.
Visitation and funeral service will be held on Friday, August 18, 2023 at Zion Lutheran Church, 6513 W 300 S, New Palestine, IN 46163. Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. The funeral service will begin at noon. Pastor Jason Taylor will be officiating. Entombment will follow at Washington Park East Cemetery in Indianapolis. Arrangements are being handled by Erlewein Mortuary &Crematory in Greenfield.
