School foundation planning gala event
GREENFIELD – The Greenfield Central School Foundation is hosting its annual Red Letter Gala Sept. 30 and sponsorship opportunities are available.
Sponsorship levels range from $250 to $6,000 and must be received by Sept. 3 for inclusion in the program.

Children’s choir auditioning new members
GREENFIELD – The Hancock County Children’s Choir is accepting new members.
The educational program for youth ages 5-18 will have a Fall Kick Off event from 4:30-6:30 p.m. Aug. 21 at Mt. Comfort Church, 3179 N. 600W., Greenfield. The first rehearsal for the new year is scheduled for Aug. 28.

Mattress fundraiser coming up at GCHS
GREENFIELD – Greenfield-Central High School’s band and guard program will host its eighth annual mattress fundraiser Aug. 27.
The event, through Custom Fundraising Solutions, will be from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. in the school’s band room. There will be 30 mattress styles on display; name-brand mattresses are available for up to 50% retail value with proceeds benefiting the music program. Mattresses are available two to three weeks after the fundraiser and delivery is available.
CFS first introduced mattress fundraising in Ohio in 2005. The company now has nearly 100 locations and works with 3,000 schools nationwide. To date, the company has given back over $50 million to school programs, according to a press release. For more information, visit bit.ly/beds4greenfield23.
Athletic boosters to host community event
FORTVILLE – A Booster Blast will be from 4-8 p.m. this Saturday, Aug. 12 benefiting Mt. Vernon High School Athletic Boosters.
The event will include free admission with corn hole and spike ball tournaments; games, food, a live DJ and silent auction. It will be at Dellen Field at the Hancock Health Stadium of MVHS, 8112 N. 200W., Fortville.
