GREENFIELD
Robert William Young, known to most as Robbie, age 50, of Greenfield, passed away Saturday, July 29, 2023, at Indiana University Hospital. He was born in Greenfield on March 1, 1973, to Robert C. Young and Pamela K. (Lefter) Roudebush. Robbie graduated from Greenfield-Central High School with the class of 1991.
He spent over 10 years working as a welder at Monroe’s Custom Body Shop in Greenfield. Most recently, Robbie was working at Service Engineering as a shipping handler. He enjoyed spending most of his time outdoors, camping, fishing, cutting the grass and four-wheeling. Most of all, he loved to spend time with his family and friends, helping those in need and being outdoors with his dog, Buddy.
Robbie is survived by his loving family including daughters, Summer Young of Indianapolis and Autumn Young of West Chester, OH; mother, Pamela Roudebush; father, Robert Young (wife, Doris); maternal grandmother, Joan Haynes; brothers, Bronie Ray (wife, Amanda) of Greenfield and Curtis Young of FL; sisters, Tammi J. Leary (husband, Chuck) and Kristi Hawk both of Greenfield; and mother of his daughters, Sherry Young. He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Wilbur and Grace Young; maternal grandfather, Earl Haynes; and aunt, Patty Hoskins.
Visitation and funeral service will be held on Thursday, August 3, 2023, at Erlewein Mortuary &Crematory, 1484 W. US Hwy. 40, Greenfield, IN 46140. Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. The funeral service will begin at 1:00 p.m. Burial will follow at Park Cemetery in Greenfield.
