GREENFIELD – Students heading back to the classrooms may need to check out a vaccination clinic.

At least two vaccination clinics are coming up in Hancock County prior to the start of the 2023-24 school year.

A school immunization clinic will be from 3-7 p.m. July 20 at Greenfield Central Junior High School, 1440 N. Franklin St., Greenfield.

The event is hosted by the Indiana Immunization Coalition. All insurance is accepted, however there is no cost to those without insurance. Children who participate will be vaccinated with all CDC-recommended vaccines; those who want to refuse a specific vaccine should contact the coalition at least 48 hours prior to the event at [email protected] or call 317-628-7116. The COVID-19 vaccine series will not be initiated without parental request, but the series will be completed if it’s already started.

An online form should be completed at patients.vaxcare.com/registration. Select Greenfield Registration-7/20 and use the enrollment code IN65942. For more, visit vaccinateindiana.org.

The Hancock County Health Department will offer walk-in vaccination clinics from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. July 24 and 25; 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. July 26; and 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. July 27 and 28. The clinics are at the health department, 111 American Legion Place, Room 250, Greenfield.

Immunizations are available for all ages; a parent or legal guardian must be present with anyone under the age of 18. Bring an insurance card; if there is no insurance, a small administrative fee will be charged. Call 317-477-1125 for questions.
