Karie Kay (Kermode) King, 58, New Castle, passed away July 8, 2023, due to injuries sustained in an unexpected accident. She was born on May 2, 1965, in Beech Grove, to Arthur Charles and Karen Kay (Herner) Kermode. She attended Center Grove High School and went to college for hair styling.

In conjunction with family and friends, Karie’s first love was riding motorcycles. She could often be found traveling and riding to the mountains. She was a member of Christian Motorcycle Association. Her second love was animals. She would also invite her dog, Kujo, for many motorcycle rides. Karie’s third love was crafting. She made jewelry, bracelets, knitted, and sewed. She also collected crystal gemstones, enjoyed nature, and music.

Karie is survived by her mother, Karen Kay Rau-Hinton; father, Arthur Charles Kermode (Rosa Shobe); loving wife, Lisa Gail King, whom she married on September 20, 2015; their children: Krystal Kay (Justin) Morgan, Kendall Charles Everett (Rebecca) Wilson, Kolton Ray Rau Wilson, and Scott Bradly King; brother, Kenny Karl Kermode (Melanie Jenkins); grandchildren: Keaton, Makenna, Ava, Ryleigh, Kevin, and Kolson; many nieces and nephews; mother-in-law, Judy (Joe) Haisley; brothers-in-law, Eddie (Becky) King and Mike (Missy) King; beloved dog, Kujo; and many, many friends.

She was preceded in death by her grandmothers, Norma Louise Herner and Charlotte Kermode; and aunt, Charlene Fivecoats.
