Shawna Roxann (Snyder) Shelby, age 68, of Greenfield, passed away Sunday, July 9, 2023. She was born in Booneville, Indiana on September 29, 1954 to Eloise (Murray) Snyder and Myron “Dick” Felix Snyder. Shawna graduated from Howe High School in 1972 and received her degree in nursing from IUPUI in 1996.

Shawna began her nursing career at Methodist Hospital Neuro ICU in Indianapolis. Following Methodist, she worked at Hancock Regional Hospital Emergency Department in Greenfield. Shawna was a former member of Greenfield Christian Church and current member at Realife Church. She was also a member of Psi Iota Xi Sorority, the Indiana State Nurse’s Association and was very involved with the Talitha Koum Women’s Recovery House. She served on the Southern Hancock School PTO for many years. Shawna was a passionate antique collector and dealer. She had quite the eye for finding unique antiques and sold them at her booth at Good Old Days Antiques &Collectibles. In her free time, she enjoyed sewing and upholstery and especially loved making clothes for her daughters. She was a talented quilt-maker and loved decorating her home. She was an avid gardener and enjoyed spending time in her flower beds. Shawna adored her four grandchildren and loved telling others about them.

Shawna is survived by her daughters, Sarah E. Simmons (Matthew) and Hannah K. Nasby (Ryan); grandchildren, Lincoln and Charlotte Simmons and Knox and Nora Nasby; and sister, Stephanie Campbell. She was preceded in death by her parents, Eloise and Dick; and brother, Richard Snyder.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, July 14, 2023 at Erlewein Mortuary &Crematory, 1484 W. US Hwy. 40, Greenfield, IN 46140. Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. The funeral service will begin at 1:00 p.m., with Pastor David Barnett officiating. Burial will follow at New Palestine Cemetery.
