Go to church at county fair

GREENFIELD — A community worship service will take place at 9:30 a.m. Sunday in the Pioneer Building at the Hancock County 4-H Fairgrounds, 620 N. Apple St.

Mohawk United Methodist Church helps present the service. Everyone is welcome.

Read-aloud features letters to Timothy

CUMBERLAND — The monthly community Bible read-aloud series continues at Heather Hills Baptist Church with the books of 1 Timothy and 2 Timothy, letters from the Apostle Paul to a younger pastor he mentored.

Readings will take place at noon Monday and 7 p.m. Wednesday. Past Bible read-alouds have typically lasted about an hour, but this one will likely be shorter. It takes about 15 minutes to read through 1 Timothy in one sitting, and 11 minutes to read through 2 Timothy.

Church leaders say anyone is welcome to come join in the reading, or simply listen. The church is located at 1421 N. German Church Road, Indianapolis.

Music at Mohawk continues today

MOHAWK — The free Music at Mohawk concert series is back for a second year, with performances outside Mohawk United Methodist Church, 2045 W. County Road 400N in Greenfield.

The series continues at 6 p.m. Saturday (June 24) with Heaven’s Voice.

Concertgoers may bring lawn chairs, blankets, snacks and nonalcoholic beverages. Parking is free in the south church parking lot, with free handicap parking in the west lot.

This year’s remaining lineup includes:

6-8 p.m. July 8: Patchwork

Husband-and-wife team Rick and Holly Garrett are the acoustic folk due known as Patchwork. They play guitar, fiddle, mandolin and hammered and mountain dulcimers as they sing a mix of traditional and contemporary folk music along with gospel, bluegrass and original songs.

Patchwork has performed at the Indiana State Fair, the International Route 66 Festival, Evenings at Conner Prairie, the Eagle Creek Folk Festival and the Metamora Music Festival.

6-8 p.m. Aug. 5: The Occasional Blues Band

The Occasional Blues Band is a four-piece band that plays the blues as well as gospel, Motown, some classic rock and a bit of country and jazz.

6-8 p.m. Aug. 12: Bryan and Yvonne Hutson

The husband-and-wife duo Bryan and Yvonne Hutson are speakers and vocalists who perform mostly around the Midwest, sharing the love of Christ through song, word and personal testimony.

Pack the Truck to aid church pantry

McCORDSVILLE — Pack the Truck takes place from 8:30 a.m. to noon Sunday at McCordsville United Methodist Church, 6247 W. Broadway. Those who want to contribute to the church’s food pantry can bring non-perishable food to the east entrance of the church during those hours.

Faith plans July 2 pitch-in

GREENFIELD — Greenfield Faith Church plans a celebration pitch-in after the 9:30 a.m. service July 2. The church is located at 328 S. Swope St. Everyone is welcome.
