SHIRLEY
Judy White, 80, of Shirley, passed away Tuesday, June 13, 2023 at IU Methodist Hospital. She was born January 21, 1943 in Indianapolis the daughter of Kenneth and Maxine (Brown) LaRue.
Judy graduated from Manuel High School in 1960 and worked for Eli Lilly for 25 years. Then she earned a Masters in Nursing from Indiana University in 1995 worked at Methodist Hospital retiring after 25 years of service. While employed with Methodist Hospital, Judy had served as manager of the Radiation/Oncology and Yellow Rose Hospice Units. Judy was a very talented and caring nurse and was awarded runner-up Nurse of the Year. She was a lifelong member of the Shirley-Wilkinson United Methodist Church, the Methodist Women where she served many funeral dinners and she always attended the annual Methodist Convention. She was a board member of Hancock Women’s Foundation and just enjoyed volunteering in any way she could. She also enjoyed reading, cooking and attending Bible studies.
She is survived by her husband of 59 years, Danny White of Shirley; son, Andrew White of Greensboro, Matt (Susan) White of Greenfield; grandchildren, Katelyn (Billy) Smith of Speedway, Drew White of Shirley, Madelynn White of Charlottesville, Trinity White of Trafalgar, Gary (Rachaele) Henderson of NY, Heather Henderson of Indianapolis; 6 great grandchildren; sisters, Diane Hauss of Shirley and Susan (Dr. John) Dolembo of Venice, FL; niece, Stephanie (Terry) White-Longworth of Wilkinson; nephews, Keith (Tammy) White of Wilkinson, Brad White of Muncie, Brian (Lisa) White of Ashville, NC and Mark (Kelly) Hauss of Danville.
Judy was preceded in death by her parents.
Services will be at 11:00am Tuesday, June 20, 2023 at Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service Knightstown Chapel with Pastor Rick Hudson officiating. Burial will follow in Glen Cove Cemetery. Visitation will be 4:00pm-8:00pm Monday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be given to the White Family Foundation/Community Foundation of Hancock County with envelopes available at the funeral home.
