Dishman, Stewart make All-MEC team

Eastern Hancock baseball players Colton Dishman and Chase Stewart were selected to the recently released All-Mid-Eastern Conference baseball team.

Dishman and Stewart, both juniors, ranked No. 1 and No. 2 on the Royals in batting average and on-base percentage. Dishman led the way in batting average at .378. Stewart hit .373. Stewart had a slightly better on-base percentage, .480, to Dishman’s .474.

Dishman led the Royals with 28 stolen bases, and led the pitching staff with a 0.95 earned run average.

Stewart had the team’s top honors in RBIs (22), doubles (9), triples (3) and slugging percentage (.554).

Both Dishman and Stewart scored 25 runs and had 31 hits.

The Royals finished 10-18 overall and 3-5 in the MEC, placing seventh.

Shenandoah won the conference with an 8-0 record. The Raiders were followed by Wes-Del (5-3), Wapahani (5-3), Daleville (4-4), Cowan (4-4), Blue River Valley (3-4), Eastern Hancock (3-5), Monroe Central (2-6) and Randolph Southern (1-6).

Others selected to the All-MEC team included: Shenandoah – Ethan Loy, Dylan McDaniel, Collin Osenbaugh, Jobe Robinson, Gavin Wilson; Wapahani – Daxton Dudley, Paul Fisher, Gavin Lash, Nate Luce; Wes-Del – Dawson Bookout, Travis Bunch, Jared Ladd, Grayson Mealy; Cowan – Jackson Clifford, Gentry Groves, Seth Watson; Daleville – Meryck Adams, Ethan Colvin, Ayden Ramirez; Blue River Valley – Garrett Grim, Layke Leonard, Clayton Turley; Monroe Central – Lane Wilson; Randolph Southern – Hagen Gambrel.
