Trivia event to boost CASA’s Dream Big program

MCCORDSVILLE – A trivia night benefiting Hancock County Friends of CASA is coming up June 15.

The event, at Daniel’s Vineyard, 9061 N. 700 W., McCordsville, is $10 per person. Doors open at 4 p.m. and trivia begins at 6 p.m. Proceeds of the event and silent auction benefit the Dream Big program, which enriches the lives of abused and neglected children by providing positive educational experiences like sports, dance, gymnastics or music lessons. Tickets can be purchased at the CASA office, 98 E. North St., Greenfield, or at dreambig2023.cbo.io.

Strawberry Festival to help several local groups

GREENFIELD – The 39th annual Greenfield Strawberry Festival presented by Bradley United Methodist Church will be this Friday, June 16.

The event, from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. on the southwest corner of Pennsylvania and Main streets, is a fundraiser for several local organizations, including Hancock County Food Pantry, Kenneth Butler Memorial Soup Kitchen, Hope House, Love INC, The Landing Place, Talitha Koum Women’s Recovery House, Friends of Hancock County CASA and Bradley Preschool.

Cost is $8 for strawberries, ice cream and homemade shortcake; cash and credit are accepted. Live entertainment from local musicians will be featured throughout the day.

Blood drives coming up this month

HANCOCK COUNTY – Several mobile blood drives are available in Hancock County this month through the Versiti Blood Center of Indiana.

Those that donate in the summer through Versiti can enter to win a drawing for tickets to a water park. Blood drives are scheduled for: 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. June 14 at Proportionair, 8250 N. 600W., McCordsville; 3-6:30 p.m. June 14 at Hancock County Wellness Center McCordsville, 8505 N. Clearview Drive, McCordsville; 2-6:30 p.m. June 15 at McCordsville United Methodist Church, 6247 W. Broadway St., McCordsville; 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. June 17 at the main branch of the Hancock County Public Library, 900 W. McKenzie Road, Greenfield; 10 a.m. to 1:15 p.m. at the Sugar Creek branch of the HCPL, 5731 W. U.S. 52, New Palestine; 2:45-6 p.m. June 20 at Bay Creek East, 9895 N. Anchor Bend, McCordsville; 3:30-6 p.m. June 20 at Realife Church, 5151 W. U.S. 40, Greenfield; and 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. June 23 at Hancock Regional Hospital, 801 N. State St., Greenfield.
