PENDLETON
Chester “Chet” Babb, 74, of Pendleton passed away on Wednesday, May 24, 2023, at Ascension St. Vincent in Anderson. He was born on November 30, 1948, in Anderson, to the late Leon Carlton and Vera Mardelle (Presser) Babb.
A Veteran of the United States Navy, Chet served from 1968 to 1972 and in Vietnam from 1968 to 1969. He retired from Guide Lamp in 2007 after 40 years of service. Chet also worked for Continental for ten years as a Director of Quality and Manufacturing Services. He served the community of Pendleton for thirteen years in various positions on the Pendleton Town Council, including President. Chet was also an advocate in the community for things he believed in and a supporter of the Police and Fire Departments in Pendleton.
Chet enjoyed spending time with friends; he never knew a “stranger”. Breakfast seven days a week, with his breakfast bunch. Chet truly enjoyed his time at the lake, slaying as many fish as he could. Most of all, Chet loved each opportunity he had to watch his grandchildren play their sports. He was a wonderful Papaw and was loved dearly by his family.
He is survived by his wife of 34 years, Beth (Kelly) Babb; children, Greg (Nancy) Babb, Jeff (Kelly) Babb, Ryan (Adrienne) Isaacs and his four-legged daughter, Bella; 10 grandchildren; siblings, Nancy Walters, John (Jean) Babb, Chuck (Fran) Babb, Becky (Rodney) Johnson and Dennis (Rodney Overla) Babb.
In addition to his parents Chet is preceded in death by a brother-in-law, Bill Walters.
Celebration of life for Chet will be on June 8, 2023, from 1:00 pm until 4:00 pm at Catalyst Church 8820 IN-9, Pendleton, IN 46064. As an expression of sympathy, family is requesting donations be made, in honor of Chet Babb, to The Santa Heating Fund c/o Pendleton Utility Office, 100 West State Street, P.O.
