The New Palestine softball team improved to 20-4 with a 9-5 Senior Night victory over Connersville Thursday.
Seniors Aglaia Rudd and Alyssa Mumaw each homered.
Junior Allie Blum had three hits, including a home run.
The Dragons are scheduled to finish regular season play today at Delta.
G-C beats Carmel
With a run in the bottom of the seventh inning, Greenfield-Central defeated Carmel 7-6 Thursday.
Faith Butler had a two-out single to win it in the seventh.
Leilani Forshey hit a home run. Butler had three hits and three RBIs. Camille Burelison had two hits and two RBIs.
Baseball
Dragons lose on final at-bat
Greenwood scored a run in the bottom of the seventh inning to defeat New Palestine’s baseball team 3-2 Thursday.
The Dragons dropped to 18-9 with the loss.
Nic Deering went 4-for-4 with a double and RBI. Blaine Nunnally hit two doubles.
Cougars shut out by Warriors
Greenfield-Central’s baseball team lost 2-0 at Warren Central Thursday.
The Cougars out-hit the Warriors 4-2, but were unable to muster any runs.
A.J. Oden went 2-for-4 with a stolen base.
Boys Golf
Dragons win on Senior Day
New Palestine’s boys golf team won on its Senior Day Tuesday.
The Dragons defeated Rushville 175-196 at Hawk’s Tail Golf Course.
Alex Cofer led New Palestine with a nine-hole score of 41.
Royals second in three-way
The Eastern Hancock boys golf team was second of three teams in a meet Wednesday at the Edge Golf Course in Anderson.
Frankton won with a 162. Eastern Hancock scored 181 and Knightstown had a 208.
Corey Leece led the Royals with a 44. Jacob Jackson finished with a 45. Ronnie Johnson and Zach Stephens each carded 46s
