GREENFIELD
Rosalind (Phares) Burk, known to most as Rosie, age 89, of Greenfield, passed away Tuesday, May 16, 2023. She was born in Mohawk, Indiana on November 29, 1933 to Autumn (Leary) and Robert Phares. On January 13, 1951, Rosie married Robert E. “Bob” Burk in Mohawk.
For 40 years, she was the business owner of B&R Monogramming and Engraving. Rosie was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star, Mohawk United Methodist Church and the American Business Women’s Association. She enjoyed gardening, traveling in her RV, fishing, quilting, cross stitching and reading. Most of all, she loved to spend time with her family, especially her grandkids and great grandkids.
Rosie is survived by her children, Mike Burk, Richard (Trina) Burk, Kevin (Brenda) Burk and Cindy (Chris Low) Burk; grandchildren, Mike Burk Jr., Shana George, Chasiti Dusang, Cori Burk, Caili Burk, Jared Collins, Richy Burk Jr., Lorie Edwards, Adam Foster, Beth Tarplee, Mitchel Burk, Spencer Burk and Carter Burk; and 18 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, Autumn and Robert; husband, Bob; daughter, Katrina Burk; and son, Greg Burk.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, May 18, 2023, from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at Erlewein Mortuary &Crematory, 1484 W. US Hwy. 40, Greenfield, IN 46140. A funeral service will be held at the mortuary on Friday, May 19, 2023 at 11:00 a.m. with viewing 1 hour prior to service. Mitchel Burk will be officiating. Burial will follow at New Palestine Cemetery.
