IAE expands company

MAXWELL – The parent company of Indiana Automotive Equipment in Maxwell made two acquisitions in Missouri and Wisconsin.

SLE Technologies Inc., a full-line sales and service company for the automotive and heavy-duty vehicle-repair industries, announced the strategic acquisitions last week. The acquisitions expand SLE’s heavy-duty distributorships to six states served by four locations.

Within the last year, SLE has added four new companies to its portfolio, by acquiring a company near Louisville, Ky. and another company in Illinois earlier this year.

Shirley Strawberry Festival May 20

SHIRLEY – Members of the Shirley community are planning its annual Shirley Strawberry Festival.

Shrine Club to host meeting

GREENFIELD – The Hancock County Shrine Club will have a meeting and a meal May 23. The meal will be at 6:30 p.m. with the meeting to follow.

Library to host mystery workshop

GREENFIELD – The Hancock County Public Library will host a mystery writing event this week.

The Speed City Sisters in Crime will give a talk on mystery writing at 10 a.m. Saturday, May 20. The Speed City Sisters in Crime are the Indiana chapter of the world-wide writers’ association, Sisters in Crime and members of the group will speak on topics such as the writing process, what makes a good mystery or crime novel and how to get works published.

Rummage sale has no set prices

GREENFIELD — A rummage sale with no set prices is set for 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Friday and Saturday at Northside Christian Church.

The sale will be in the basement of the church, 1304 Greenfield Drive. Enter through the back door. Donations will be accepted.
