Spring carnival to benefit Zoey’s Place
GREENFIELD – Zoey’s Place Child Advocacy Center will host a spring carnival from 1-4 p.m. May 20.
The event will be at the Hancock County Fairgrounds in Greenfield. Tickets are $1 at the carnival, but family bundle packages are available for multiple tickets and food. Reading dogs coming to local libraries
HANCOCK COUNTY – Reading dogs will be at local libraries May 21.
Bentley’s Buddies & Friends will be at both the main branch and the Sugar Creek branch of the Hancock County Public Library from 1:30-2:30 p.m. May 21. Practice reading out loud with a friendly audience; no need to sign up, just come to the children’s room. The libraries are located at 900 W. McKenzie Road, Greenfield; and 5731 W. U.S. 52, New Palestine.
Tea party coming up
GREENFIELD – Registration is open for the Pixy Tea Party.
The traditional event at the James Whitcomb Riley Boyhood Home and Museum is scheduled for 1 p.m. June 25. Cost is $10 for children 3-15 and $20 for ages 16 and older. To register, visit parks.greenfieldin.org.
Free kids programs open at libraries
HANCOCK COUNTY – Local libraries are offering free children’s programs this month. Chalkfest will be 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. May 20 at the Sugar Creek branch of the Hancock County Public Library, 5731 W. U.S. 52, New Palestine. Youth of all ages and artistic abilities are welcome to create art on the patio of the building. No registration is required for the drop-in program.
The Greenfield library will also offer an open program, with no registration required. Families with children ages birth to 5 are welcome to explore sensory play stations from 9:30-11:30 a.m. May 25 at the central HCPL library, 900 W. McKenzie Road, Greenfield.
All ages are welcome at the PLay & Learn Storytime, set for 10:30 a.m. May 17 at the Fortville-Vernon Township Public Library, 625 E. Broadway St., Fortville.
