INDIANAPOLIS – State legislators recently welcomed local students who served as pages in March and April at the Indiana Statehouse.

Student pages for Sen. Michael Crider, R-Greenfield, were Chase Scott, Greenfield, Greenfield Central Junior High School; Rebecca Sheridan, McCordsville, Geist Montessori Academy; Sophia Smith, Cumberland, St. John Lutheran School; and Susanna Smith, Cumberland, St. John Lutheran School.

Tristan Kean served as a page with State Rep. Bob Cherry, R-Greenfield; Kean is a New Palestine High School student.

“It is always a pleasure to meet with students from our district and teach them about the legislative process,” Crider said in a press release. “The page program allows these students the opportunity to see the process from a different perspective, beyond the classroom. Thank you to these students for taking the time to visit the Senate.”

Student pages assist lawmakers and staff with daily duties, tour branches of state government and observe debates on the House and Senate floor.

“Welcoming local students to the Statehouse and visiting with them is always a highlight of the legislative session,” Cherry said in a press release. “It was great to meet Tristan and learn more about his interests, and I hope he enjoyed his day as a page.”
